This beautiful poem (Eccl. 3:1-8) lists fourteen pairs of "times" in our lives.  "A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot" and so forth.  Through this poem, Solomon is affirming that every action of man is part of God's all-encompassing plan.  All events come from God and he knows how all the pieces fit together.
